Speaking to the nation about the danger faced by “our entire economy” tonight, George Bush invited John McCain and Barack Obama to the White House tomorrow to help work it out. This invitation comes, coincidentally, just a couple of hours after John McCain, struggling in the polls, announced the “suspension” of his campaign, his desire to postpone Friday’s debate and his invitation to Barack Obama to do the same.
How can a single word uttered by this president be taken seriously when he is so obviously playing politics with what is such a serious problem?
