John McCain has said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” at least sixteen times this year. He said it again on the very day Wall Street was on the verge of collapse. He later clarified by claiming that he was talking about American workers (why does Barack Obama think American workers are weak?).
But that was a full week ago. This morning on the Today Show (and by the way, when’s Sarah Palin going to be on?), McCain said:
We are in the most serious crisis since World War II.
I asked earlier whether there was anything John McCain wouldn’t say or do to get elected. Now we have our answer.
