John McCain began running this ad today:
That’s great. Without giving any details, he’s going to make the stock market correct itself, magically rebuild peoples’ savings, and make investments “grow again.” In another lifetime, the McCain campaign didn’t think much of people who made grandiose promises without the wherewithal to make it happen:
McCain’s pitch sounds a lot like another winning strategy:
John Kerry has a real economic plan to create 10 million new jobs in his first term as President. He will end special tax breaks for companies that outsource jobs, help companies and families address the skyrocketing costs of healthcare and move America towards energy independence.
At the end of the ad, McCain says, “lower taxes and less spending will protect your job and create new ones.” It’s not what he says — lower taxes for corporations and the rich are standard Republican fare — it’s how he says it. Remind you of anyone?
