Alabama GOP gubernatorial hopeful Tim James says that in his state, English is the only language spoken (which will come as quite a surprise if you’ve ever been to Alabama — that was English?). When James is governor, he promises, business at the DMV will be conducted only in native Alabaman:

Not sure what the dramatic pause was about, but perhaps he’s so moved by his own non-racist words he needed a moment to gather himself.
