Teabaggers to UK Conservatives: That’s quite a hung parliament you have there

Yesterday’s elections in the UK produced no outright parliamentary majority for any party. David Cameron’s Conservatives won the most seats (no doubt to the delight of teabaggers everywhere), but still fell short. In order to become prime minister, Cameron will therefore need Nick Clegg’s Liberal Democrats to form a coalition. Is it possible? What will the Tories give up? What are the odds that Gordon Brown and his misspelled Labour Party will hold on to power?

On today’s show, we’ll talk to prominent writer, pundit, and actual British person Alex Massie about the results.

We will also discuss the case of Family Research Council co-founder George Rekers. Reckers is the minister who condemns homsexuals’ immortal souls in a rather unusual way — by having gay male hookers insert their penises into various of his orifices. You have to give him credit for originality. Or maybe not.

Finally, we’ll talk about the right wing getting all worked up because a high school prominently displayed a Mexican flag on Cinco de Mayo. After his mother’s complaint went unheeded, a student took matters into his own hands and tore down the flag and disposed of it. Now he’s a hero to the nutcase right — because they’re usually into destruction of school property by students. Xenophobia? Not here, that’s for sure.
